In October 2018, my friend and fellow photographer Craig Boehman and I traveled to Varanasi. This 7,000 year old city is the home of Hinduism and the burning ghats, where people who have died are burned and sent to heaven. This city was a fascinating, old place with narrow lanes. The people packed in here along with water buffalo wandering the streets.

Craig and I explored the lanes, were taken on a boat down the river and witnessed the nightly ceremony of this place. It was a moving experience to be in such a holy and old place in addition to being able to make photos all day long. Below is my best work in digital and film photography from this trip to Varanasi.
